I just got the information of the TED prize winners 2009 and wanted to share here the wonderful job a maestro is doing connecting music, souls and adding hope to thousands of Venezuelan kids.
This is the kind of social action, mobilization, compassion that transforms lives and gives back dignity.

Dear Carla,
I was gladly surprised and honored to fing Maestro Abreu in one of your posts. He is a remarkable person, has a PhD in Economics, was a Minister in previous governments and university professor as well. He just happens to be a lifetime musician and simply a genius in setting up this system that has helped so many young people in our country, many from very himble and poor origins.
We missed you so much at Tesol. I am sure it was not the same without your energy and joy. I did enjoy meeting Rita, Vance, Elizabeth and Christine, though, and had a great time sharing the room and stay with Jane. I am sure we will meet next year. Let`s hope so. Best, Berta
