For me, the challenge was just the spark for further explorations. No, it’s not over! Finding ways and time to connect is a multi-faceted process. You go far, there’s even more to discover. Ideally, it’s time now for us to keep using the skills, strategies, ideas we’ve been exploring in the blogosphere. However, I feel we should go on exploring possibilities as a group as we’ve done so far. I don’t know how, but maybe still using the tag and the cocomment sharing system to highlight new blogs, interesting posts, comments worth reading? Well, I’m speaking up my mind…
My top 5 lessons from this wonderful commenting experience?
- Connections keep coming in different ways
- A simple idea can take a bunch of very busy educators to go beyond, always beyond
- Keep commenting. New nodes of learning are formed by the connections generated in the comment area.
- There are people interested in what you have to say. Keep blogging.
- I’m thinking of a totally new approach to next year’s blogging4educators Electronic Village workshop due to the input I’ve gotten from the challenge.
The challenge has just begun.
Thank you for your words!
I’ ve got so used to our Challenge that I kind of miss it and your words cheered me up!
I like the idea of remaining linked together, but the tag should be different, I think.
I’ll be back to visit you, as our Challenge “is just beginning”!

I like the idea that things are now just beginning. It’s true – I’ve learnt so much that my commenting is really now starting to be meaningful for me, have some purpose, and hopefully add value to others. I’ve come across a lot of new people/bloggers and the networks are truly starting to develop and connections are being made. As the late Big Kev would exclaim, “I’m excited”.
Maybe we should declare, “The Challenge is dead, long live the comment!”
@Colin chuckling at “The Challenge is dead, long live the comment!” that is so cool.
So Carla I wondering what changes you are considering for next year’s blogging4educators Electronic Village workshop based on what you have gained from the Comment Challenge?
Everyone seems to be feeling the same about the end of the Challenge. Great idea about keeping the tag and continuing its use for when we write posts. I’ve mainly used it to tag posts (been bad on sharing the posts to the group because its that extra step).
Bonnie has suggested perhaps we might like to consider a weekly challenge. Her thoughts were a Flickr type challenge, whereas I thought maybe a Web 2.0 challenge. Jane Lowe recommended what about a Web 2.0 Wednesday weekly task? Your thoughts?
Carla,
Great idea, yes the challenge is over but the connections and conversations should carry on. One idea like you said to tag it and use cocomment. There is also a group within cocomment called The Comment Challenge, where we can all stay in touch.
Thanks
Hi, Joaquin,
We are all there at the Comment Challenge in cocomment. I guess that now we’re just trying to figure out how to keep those meaningful conversations we’ve had for the past month and not let this wonderful group disperse due to our hectic lives.
The challenge might be technically over, but the all point of it was to discover a new way of being online: and this is definitely not over !
Yes, the challenge group should continue, but maybe more about “how to have interesting conversation on the web”, rather than sharing your online activity for the challenge. This said, it might be time for you now to create your own groups and start your own community around your points of interest.
@Everyone – Over? Who said the Challenge is over? You mean . . . is there something I’ve missed? You’re not serious the Challenge can’t be over yet – I though we had an extension

Dear Ken,
Just like me! I still have to catch up. In fact, I think every day, when I wake up and start working on my computer a new comment challenge begins, now in a much more informed way!
The official challenge is over, but do I hear about another one coming up?
Maybe let’s allow for this one to sink in and then discuss another one.
Anyways, thank you all for participating, and let’s continue the relationship at cocomment group.
thanks
J
Carla,
Congratulations for winning the Comment Challenge!
I’ve just read it at “The Bamboo Project” and was happy for you, Bonnie, Claire, Kevin and Taylor!
Now we are engaged in web2.0wednesdays and on learningwithcomputers group, so we keep sharing and learning from each other.
Parabéns!
Ines
Hi, Ines.
Thanks for stopping by! We’re certainly connected due to this wonderful chance we had during the Comment Challenge. The learning goes on.
